You have been in this situation a thousand times. You go out on someone’s boat for the day and either they are constantly nagging you for not being extremely careful with their new rig or something gets damaged from people having fun. Who wants to spend $40,000 or more dollars on a boat that is likely to get damaged right away? Boats can be used for fun experiences like parties. It’s inevitable.
The solution to this problem is to invest in an inflatable boat! There are many different types of inflatable boats, which include boats made from hypalon, ocean kayaks and catamaran kayaks. Decide what type of boat you should invest in depending on what you want to use it for.
Hypalon Inflatable Boats
Hypalon is a type of material made from a synthetic rubber compound. This specific material is used in the manufacturing of most inflatable boats because of its extremely durable properties. Boats are exposed to many adverse weather conditions, including ice water, extreme temperatures and storms. Boats made out of hypalon are considered to be almost invincible when facing these types of weather conditions. If you hit a rock or a log in a fiberglass boat you will probably take a chunk out of your hull, but if you hit the same thing with an inflatable boat made from hypalon there will more than likely be no damage done to the boat.
Inflatable Catamaran Kayak
Want to take a few people on a nice leisure cruise around a lake or down a river? If you answered yes then you need an inflatable catamaran kayak. These kayaks are made with two hulls to make the boat extremely stable. Rough water is not an obstacle in these stable vessels. Most catamarans come equipped with a lot of storage space, which makes these boats great for activities like fishing and camping. It’s also common for people to take this type of boat white water rafting because of its buoyancy and stability.
Inflatable Ocean Kayak
There is no better way to explore the wonders of the ocean than with an inflatable ocean kayak. These boats tend to sit low in the water and remain very stable amongst waves. Despite the various styles of ocean kayaks, they all have one thing in common: a flat bottom. The flat bottom allows users to easily maneuver that vessel in choppy or rough water. Ocean kayaks have minimal storage because of their sleek design. It is not recommended to take a typical ocean kayak out in deep water (more than 200 feet from the shore), unless it is a specific kayak that is designed to do so. You will need to buy a well-designed kayak specifically for deep water if you plan to take it out in deep water. These kayaks or more hefty and have reinforced hulls that can handle the conditions.
